Feynman versus Bohr over the Copenhagen Interpretation

Although I used it more for some of its general insights and quotes as much as the specific theory involved. And a more appropriate saying for one would be – shut up and make sure it’s consistent with basic physics laws, as calculations with MORE THAN ONE VARIABLE are nothing but BOGUS SCIENCE, IMO – based on the facts and laws of ‘equations’.

A ‘calculation’ with even one thrown in uncalculable variable is no longer even an ‘equation’.  For an ‘equation’, both sides of it MUST BE EXACTLY the SAME. And in the conversion of Energy – We still don’t have a clue about the total number of particles involved, let alone their individual characteristics, formations, breakdowns, etc.  For an equation to be ACCURATE, you need formulae for that particular instance and every reaction involved – simply CAN NOT BE DONE with what we know.  And for a REAL ‘calculation’ every single reaction has to be accounted for.  Miss one…  No longer an ‘equation’.  Miss more than one, it’s not just not an equation, it’s  hiLIARiously, exponentially, no longer an equation.

Laws in BASIC Physics fulfill the requirements of an ‘equation’.  Most of the BS, Bogus Science’ of the great ‘quantum physics’ ‘formulae’, not so much when they coincidentally bypass basic physics with a ‘calculation’ that includes ‘missing factors’ needed for a real equation with some BS ‘vague variable’, no matter how supposedly ‘insignificant’.

The ‘insignificant variable’ is a missing ‘equation’ – and one of the few things simple ‘equations’ are good for – finding a missing part of the equation – unless of course you just throw in some inane ‘variable’.

This equation is not correct, therefor, we are missing part of the reaction.  And then ‘real’ scientists know to look for the missing reaction.

Quantum field theory

‘Anybody who is not shocked by quantum mechanics has not understood it!’ – Niels Bohr.

‘Nobody understands quantum mechanics!’ – Richard P. Feynman.

There’s a total lack of respect in Feynman’s writings for the brainwashing non-calculational philosophical baggage of Bohr, which Feynman also generously dished out to string theorists.  Feynman’s lack of respect for string theorists and Copenhagen Interpretationists is summed up by his kindly suggestion: ‘Shut up and calculate!’

‘I would like to put the uncertainty principle in its historical place … If you get rid of all the old-fashioned ideas and instead use the ideas that I’m explaining in these lectures [path integrals] – adding arrows for all the ways an event can happen – there is no need for an uncertainty principle!’

– Feynman, QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter, Penguin, London, 1990, footnote on pages 55-6.

‘… I do feel strongly that this is nonsense! ……
